Bank of Baroda has started the recruitment process for 2,482 Local Bank Officer posts for the year 2026. The vacancies are for regular appointments in Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I).

A candidate is permitted to apply for one state only. The selected state should therefore be chosen after checking the applicable vacancy and local-language conditions.

 

Eligibility Conditions for Local Bank Officer

Applicants must fulfil the prescribed requirements before submitting their forms. The main eligibility conditions concern education, professional experience, age and knowledge of the local language.

Qualification Required

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution is required for the post.

Candidates should have valid proof of their graduation qualification. The Bank can ask for the relevant degree and marksheets during document verification or at another stage of recruitment.

Experience Requirement

The applicant should possess at least one year of post-qualification experience as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank included in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

The required experience is specifically at officer level. Service performed in a clerical cadre does not fulfil this particular eligibility condition.

Candidates should keep employment-related proof available, such as an experience certificate, appointment document, relieving letter or other records showing the required experience.

Knowledge of Local Language

The Local Bank Officer role is associated with a particular state. Candidates must therefore know the language prescribed for the state selected in the application.

LBO Salary and Pay Scale

The Local Bank Officer position is placed in JMG/Scale-I.

The basic pay is structured as follows:

₹48,480 – ₹2,000 – ₹62,480 – ₹2,340 – ₹67,160 – ₹2,680 – ₹85,920

The overall remuneration also includes applicable allowances and other benefits available under the Bank's prevailing service conditions and relevant banking industry settlements.

Candidates who satisfy the required officer-level experience criteria may also be considered for one advance increment, subject to the applicable rules.

The English Language component is qualifying in nature. Its score does not form part of the marks considered for final merit.

An incorrect response attracts a 0.25-mark deduction according to the examination scheme.
