Commission (HPPSC) has released the HPPSC HPAS Recruitment 2026
notification for recruitment to various posts through the Himachal Pradesh
Administrative Service Combined Competitive Examination–2026. The

Educational
Qualification
Candidates applying for the HPPSC
HPAS Combined Competitive Examination must possess a Bachelor’s degree or an
equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
Candidates who have appeared in a
qualifying examination and are awaiting their results may also be eligible to
apply subject to the conditions prescribed in the official notification.
Specific provisions are also given for candidates who have passed their final
professional MBBS or equivalent medical examination but have not completed
their internship at the time of application.

manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh, along with suitability for

The selection process consists of
three major stages:

Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination
consists of two objective-type papers:
Each paper carries a maximum of 200
marks. The Preliminary Examination is a screening test, and its marks are not
counted towards the final merit. The Aptitude Test is qualifying in nature,
with a minimum qualifying requirement of 33%.
2.
Mains Examination
Candidates who qualify in the
Preliminary Examination are eligible to appear for the Mains Examination,
subject to fulfilling the prescribed eligibility conditions. Candidates are
required to select one optional subject from the subjects listed in the examination
scheme.
3.
Personality Test
Candidates qualifying through the
required examination stages are called for the Personality Test. Final
allocation to services/posts is made with regard to merit, vacancies and the
preferences expressed by candidates, subject to the applicable rules.
